How To Grow Therador Garlic Bulbs In Ireland
- Planting Time: For best results, plant your Therador garlic bulbs in the autumn, around October to November.
- Soil Preparation: Choose a sunny location with well-drained soil. Enrich the soil with organic matter or compost before planting if the soil is poor.
- Clove Seperation: Each clove will grow into a new garlic bulb. Seperate all the cloves of the bulb.
- Planting Depth and Spacing: Plant each clove 15cm apart in rows 30cm apart, with the pointed end facing up. Cover with soil and water well.
- Care: Maintain consistent moisture in the soil, but avoid waterlogging. Mulch to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
- Harvesting: Your Therador garlic will be ready for harvest by mid-summer, typically June or July. Harvest when the lower leaves turn brown while the upper leaves remain green.
- Curing: Cure your harvested garlic bulbs by hanging them in a well-ventilated, dry area for 2-3 weeks to enhance their storage life.
