How To Grow American Flag Leek From Seed: Sow outdoors at a depth of 2cm from April, into a well prepared seed bed. Alternatively sow American Flag leek seed indoors from January to March at a depth of 2cm, in seedling modules or small pots, using free-draining, seed sowing compost.
When leek seedlings are well established, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7-10 days before transplanting them into the well prepared, fertile, well drained soil in sun or semi shade. Plant American Flag leeks at a distance of 10 - 15cm between plants and 35cm between rows. Water the plants thoroughly after planting.
