Name: Red Curled Kale: Roter Grünkohl
Latin Name: Brassica oleracea
Description: Roter Grünkohl is a early/late variety of red curled kale. It has large roughly curled leaves. The leaves develop their purplish/red colour as the nights get colder in Winter.
Seed Origin: Netherlands
Sowing: April to June
Harvesting: September to January
How To Grow Red Curled Kale From Seed: Scatter your Kale seeds directly outside in a row and cover with 1.5cm of damp soil.
After about 6 weeks, when the plants are roughly 20cm tall, thin them to leave the strongest plants, leaving a spacing of 50cm between each plant. After this, Kale does not need much maintenance as it is very strong.
During Winter, as the nights become colder and frosty, the leaves will turn more purple/red.
Harvest Kale as you need it over winter.
Seed count is approximate.
