How To Grow Beefsteak Tomatoes From Seed: Marmande Tomato seeds can be sown indoors in pots or seedling modules as early as March. They can be planted directly outside in pots from Late April onwards.
Sow 1 seed in each cell/pot. When the seedlings get to about 8cm tall, they can be replanted into larger pots. Tomatoes need heat, and do best in greenhouses. If growing them outside, put them in a warm, sunny area of the garden. Do not put them uncovered outside until all frost risk has passed.
Tomato plants will need to be supported by a stake or something similar, to help the plant grow upwards and bear the fruit. Harvest the tomatoes as they ripen, this will encourage the plant to produce more fruit.
Seed count is approximate.
