How To Grow Leaf Celery From Seed: Using seedling modules or small pots, sow a pinch of Celery seed in each pot and barely cover with damp compost. Celery seeds need light to germinate so it is important the seeds are barely covered. Place the modules/pots near a window. Germination can take up to 3 weeks. Keep the soil moist during this time.
When the seedlings become established, thin them to leave the strongest one in each pot/cell. Transplant them out to their final spot when all risk of frost has passed and temperatures are reasonable.
Alternatively, plant in rows 20cm apart directly outside. Sow the seeds thinly in the rows. When the seedlings establish, thin to leave 2cm between each plant. Celery requires a lot of watering.
