How To Grow Brighton Lettuce From Seed: Brighton lettuce seeds can be sown under protection in a greenhouse etc. from March. Sowing directly outside can be done from April.
Using seedling modules or small pots, sow two seeds in each cell/pot, cover with compost, and keep damp. When the seedlings establish, thin to leave only the strongest one in each cell/pot. Transplant into the growing site when large enough to handle, and space the plants 30cm apart.
Alternatively, sow directly into the growing site by sowing the seed thinly into shallow drills that are 30cm apart. When the seedlings establish, thin them to leave 30cm between each plant. Try to keep the growing site weed free.
