Latin Name: Brassica rapa, Brassica juncea
Description: Oriental Salad Mix is a colourful cut-and-come-again salad mixture consisting of the following Asian leafy vegetables: Pak Choi, Bok Choy, Mizuna, Mibuna, Purple Wave, Rouge metis, Green in snow, Red Giant Mustard and others. These varieties are quite tolerant to cold weather.
The taste of the leaves in this mix range from mild to spicy. Baby leaves can be ready to harvest in as little as 4 weeks.

How To Grow Oriental Salad Mix From Seed: Sow the seeds thinly in shallow drills, and cover lightly with soil. Keep the area moist throughout germination. Sowing this mix in pots is also possible. Germination should take 7 to 14 days depending on the temperature.
The baby leaves of the plants can be picked and eaten in as little as 4 weeks during Summer months. Harvest all of the leaves when they are at the baby leaf stage if this is your preference, or thin them to allow some of the plants to grow bigger.
When the plants are established, cut and use the outside leaves of the plants first to promote regrowth.
Oriental Salad Mix seeds can be grown almost all year round. It will grow slowly throughout Winter months in a greenhouse/polytunnel.
