How To Grow Annual Cut Flowers From Seed: Rake the soil to a fine tilth and scatter the seed thinly. Lightly rake in or press seeds into the surface, do not bury them deeply. Water gently and keep the soil moist until germination, which usually takes 1–3 weeks depending on variety and temperature. Thin lightly if overcrowded.
