Description: Autumn King 2 is a variety of carrot that can be stored for a long time after harvesting. It produces an abundent crop of large orange/reddish carrots that are sweet tasting.

How To Grow Autumn King Carrot From Seed: Spread the seed evenly and thinly into shallow drills that are 20cm apart. Cover the seed with about 2cm of fine soil. When the seedlings start to grow, thin them to leave a space of about 5cm between each plant. Try and keep in between the plants free from weeds.
Before sowing, it is best to work the soil you are going to sow your carrots in, and make it as fine as possible to a good depth. As carrots grow downwards, if the soil is fine, they will tend to grow long and straight.
Sow successionally throughout the year to ensure a consistent supply.

Sowed a small amount of seed under cover in October for using carrot tops in pestos etc - seedlings already emerging - very pleased
I've grown several varieties of carrots and always find that they can be a bit fickle, in my experience. Sometimes, I'm excited to see the first leaves popping up in a week while other times, it can take 3 weeks and at first, appear to be disappointing.
But patience is key as well as keeping the seeds moist. With this Autumn King 2 variety (which I have not grown before), I can say that I'm glad I was patient.
I sowed a short row in the garden with the idea I would make some subsequent sowing of rows, just over 3 weeks ago. I also later sowed some in some large deep pots in which I have some other things growing.
I was a bit surprised to see some carrot sprouts in the pots, but nothing in the row in the garden. The soil in the pots however, keep moisture better than the soil in the garden, especially under the sun, here in Greece.
I made extra efforts to mist with a sprayer, the seeds in the garden twice a day just to ensure they were constantly moist and not drying out.
The seeds in the garden were a bit sporadic at germinating at first. But this also can be a challenge with carrot seeds.
Anyway, 4 weeks later, I'm glad to report that about a week ago, I can attest to excellent germination of these seeds in the garden soil and will soon be thinning them out.
Many have different opinions about how deep you should sow carrot seeds; experimentation is best in your own circumstances, and how well the soil above the seeds holds moisture, while also not being so deep they don't have a chance of poking through.
The instructions on these seed packages suggest sowing 2 cm or about 3/4 inch deep. I personally think this is too deep - but this is where you should be willing to experiment for what works for you.
No matter what, have patience.
