How To Grow Blue Cornflower From Seed: Cornflowers do not like to be replanted, therefore it is best to sow the seeds directly where they are to grow. Prepare shallow drills that are 25cm apart. Sprinkle the seeds thinly into the drill and cover lightly with fine soil. Seedlings should start to show after 2 to 4 weeks.
When the seedlings establish, thin them to leave 10cm between the plants. Cornflowers grow tall, the plants being close together act as support for each other.
The flowers produced are a beautiful blue colour that are much loved by bees and other pollinators. Removing dead heads will promote the plant to produce more flowers.
