How to Grow Carnegie Hyacinth Bulbs in Ireland

Plant Hyacinth ‘Carnegie’ bulbs in autumn for beautiful fragrant white blooms in Spring. This variety thrives in Ireland’s spring climate and is an excellent early-season nectar source for bees.

  • Planting Depth: 10–15 cm deep

  • Spacing: 10 cm apart

  • Soil: Well-drained, fertile soil

  • Sunlight: Full sun to partial shade

  • Blooming Time: February to March

  • Height: 25 cm

  • Growing Tip: Suitable for borders, containers, or indoor forcing. For indoor blooms, chill bulbs in a dark, cool place (below 10°C) for 10–12 weeks before bringing into light. Always wear gloves when handling hyacinth bulbs, as they may irritate the skin.
