How To Grow Pincushion Flower From Seed: Using seedling modules or small pots, sow 2 seeds in each cell/pot. Lightly cover the seeds with fine soil. Germination usually takes 2 to 3 weeks. When the seedlings establish, thin to leave only the strongest one in each cell/pot.

When the plants have their first two sets of True leaves, transplant out to the garden once frost risk has passed. Alternatively, sow directly outside when the risk of frost has passed. 

Scabiosa can grow to 80cm in height. The flowers it produces can range in colour from white, pnk, purple to deep red. They bloom for a long period, and this can be prolonged by removing dead heads from the plants.
