How To Grow Verbena From Seed: Using seedling modules or small pots, sow a pinch of seed in each cell/pot. When the seedlings establish, thin to leave only the strongest one in each cell/pot.
Verbena seeds germinate best if they experience some cold treatment first, as they naturally would over Winter in nature. If planting is done early in Spring, the seedling module or pots can be left outdoors for 2 to 3 weeks to experience this cold, and then brought back inside. Alternatively, the seeds can be mixed with a little compost in a small container and placed in the fridge for 2 to 3 weeks before planting the seeds.Transplant out to the garden when frost risk has passed.
Alternatively, sow directly into your flower bed in Autumn for flowers in the following year.
After Verbena has run its course in Autumn, you can dig up the roots, and bring them inside for planting out the following year, the same technique that is done with Dahlias.
Seed count is approximate.
