100 Red Queen Malope Seeds [approx]

Name: Malope: Red Queen

Latin Name: Malope trifida

Plant Type: Annual

Plant Height: 70-90 cm

Description: Malope 'Red Queen', commonly known as flowering mallow or funnel mallow, produces large, vibrant crimson-pink blooms with attractive darker veins throughout summer. Growing to around 90cm tall, it is ideal for borders, cottage gardens, and wildflower-style plantings. Easy to grow from seed, this sun-loving annual attracts bees and other pollinators while also making an excellent cut flower. Sow in spring and enjoy a long-lasting display of colourful blooms from early summer until autumn.

Seed Origin: Netherlands

Sowing: March to May. Or plant in Autumn directly into your flower bed for an early flower display the following year.

Flowering: June to October

How To Grow Malope From Seed: Using seedling modules or small pots, sow two seeds in each cell/pot. When the seedlings establish, thin to leave only the strongest one in each cell/pot.

Transplant out to the garden when frost risk has passed. Alternatively, Malope can be sown directly in place when the risk of frost has passed.

If sowing directly outside, thin out the seedlings once they become established, and leave a distance of 35cm between each plant.

Alternatively, plant the seeds in Autumn directly into your flower bed for an early flower display the following year.
