Name: Pepper: Hungarian Yellow Hot Wax
Latin Name: Capsicum annuum
Description: Hungarian Yellow Hot Wax Peppers are medium-sized, tapering chilli peppers with a vibrant yellow colour. They have a mildly spicy heat, and are often used in cooking for their bright flavour and subtle kick. They are usually harvested when yellow in colour, but they will turn orange, and then red if they are allowed to mature longer. They are a high yielding pepper.
Seed Origin: Italy
Sowing: March to May
Harvesting: July to September
How To Grow Hungarian Yellow Hot Wax Pepper From Seed: Peppers do best when grown in pots in a greenhouse as they require plenty of heat. Sow in small pots or seedling modules. Sow 1 - 2 Hungarian Yellow Hot Wax Pepper seeds per pot/cell.
Cover lightly with compost and keep moist. Pepper seed germination will be best if kept at room temperature or above while germinating. When the seedlings get their first true leaves, pot them on into a larger pot. Repeat this as the plant grows, giving it a bigger pot as it grows.
After the plant flowers, the peppers will start to grow. Hungarian Yellow Hot Wax Peppers can be harvested while yellow. If they are allowed to mature longer, and if temperatures allow, they will eventually turn red. The longer the peppers grow, the spicier they become.
Seed count is approximate.
