How To Grow Pumpkins From Seed: Make sure the soil where you are going to grow your pumpkins is a good fertile soil. Seeds should be sown in pots or seed starting modules for later transplanting. Sow one seed in each cell/pot and cover with compost. Keep moist throughout germination.
3 to 5 weeks after sowing, when the seedlings have established, they will be ready to transplant to their final spot. Pumpkins are frost sensitive, so be careful not to transplant them outside until the last frost has passed.
Plant out in rows that are 150cm apart, leaving a spacing of 70cm between each plant. Water well if the soil dries out. Harvest in September/October when the leaves start to die back or before there is a risk of frost.
Seed count is approximate.
