Sowing: March to May

Harvesting: September to November

How To Grow Red Cabbage From Seed: Start indoors from March. Using seedling modules or small pots, sow two seeds in each cell/pot. When the seedlings establish, thin to leave only the strongest one in each cell/pot.

Transplant the seedlings to their final spot when they are about 10cm in height and frost risk has passed.

Alternatively, sow directly outside from May onwards, sowing two seeds every 60cm.

Langedijker bewaar 2 produces very large heads with dark purple leaves. Harvest when the heads are firm.
