Description: Butternut squash produces cream coloured fruit, with orange flesh on the inside. Perhaps the most well known of all the squashes, it can be used in any amount of dishes and soups. It also has a good storage life after it is harvested.

How To Grow Butternut Squash From Seed: Butternut Squash is best started indoors. Using small pots, sow 1 seed in each pot. After the seedlings have established, and developed their third set of leaves, they are ready to be transplanted to their final spot in the garden.

Make sure all risk of frost has passed before transplanting to the garden. Give each plant 70cm of space.

Harvest all of the fruit before the first Autumn frost. Butternut Squash will store for a relatively long time after harvesting.
