Description: Grown in Co. Kerry in Ireland. Primor Garlic bulbs have a mild flavour. They are also an early variety. Primor is a variety of softneck garlic. It is known for its mild flavor and is often used in a wide range of culinary applications. Primor garlic is popular for its ability to store well, making it a good choice for those who want a longer shelf life for their garlic bulbs.

It is not a hardneck garlic variety, so it does not produce the central woody stem typical of hardneck garlic. Instead, Primor garlic forms multiple layers of cloves within the bulb and has a soft, flexible stalk.

Growing Instructions:

  1. Planting Time: For best results, plant your Primor garlic bulbs in the autumn, around October to November.
  2. Soil Preparation: Choose a sunny location with well-drained soil. Enrich the soil with organic matter or compost before planting if the soil is poor.
  3. Clove Seperation: Each clove will grow into a new garlic bulb. Seperate all the cloves of the bulb.
  4. Planting Depth and Spacing: Plant each clove 15cm apart in rows 30cm apart, with the pointed end facing up. Cover with soil and water well.
  5. Care: Maintain consistent moisture in the soil, but avoid waterlogging. Mulch to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
  6. Harvesting: Your Primor garlic will be ready for harvest by mid-summer, typically June or July. Harvest when the lower leaves turn brown while the upper leaves remain green.
  7. Curing: Cure your harvested garlic bulbs by hanging them in a well-ventilated, dry area for 2-3 weeks to enhance their storage life.

Garlic

Hi. Tony here. I got garlic bulbs at the plowing a couple of years ago. They were bigger than the ones that I got from you. I have been sowing my ( own ) garlic since. I decided to try your garlic last year, I taught that they would be larger. I have no complaints about your garlic, it has a mild flavor and they are good and solid. My wife is a chef. We use garlic often and haven't bought much shop bought garlic since we started growing our own. I grow about 100
