200 Organic Sweet William Seeds [approx]

Name: Sweet William

Latin Name: Dianthus barbatus

Plant Type: Biennial

Plant Height: 40-60 cm

Description: Sweet William is native to southern Europe and parts of Asia. It has become a popular ornamental garden plant. The flowers are edible and may have medicinal properties. Sweet William attracts bees, birds, and butterflies.

Sowing: May to July

Flowering: June to September

How To Grow Sweet William From Seed: Sweet William can be directly seeded into your flower garden. Sow seeds outdoors from May to July to produce flowers from June to September of the following year.

Sweet William likes full sun, but it will tolerate partial shade. It prefers rich, well drained soil.

A quicker way of growing it is to plant your seeds in Winter/Spring, indoors, 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost date. Then transplant outside once the risk of frost has passed. Plants should then flower during summer in the same year as planting.

If Sweet William is not dead headed, it will reseed itself for the following year.
